That gut wrenching feeling of rejection we are all too familiar with. You know, that feeling when no matter how hard you try, no matter what you do, nothing seems to be good enough. No matter the length you go to grab their attention, how you make yourself available for just a moment of conversation or connection. It all seems to be in vain because the feelings are just not reciprocated. Your left feeling like no matter what you do, you just can’t get this person to love you and more then loving them, you want to receive it back freely. Not forced. No one wants to be with a person if the feeling isn’t mutual no matter how much your heart yearns for them.
I was spending some time in prayer and I was praying for the body, the church, and the Lord brought this scenario of relationships to my heart. The pursuit, the cost of rejection, the drive one feels to get the other’s attention and then I simply felt this, that was the way we make Him feel when He pursues us, the church, His bride! How many times we reject the call to just give Him some time, some attention, to go to the secret place. He so longs for us to be with Him. We cannot fathom the length, the width an the depth of His love for us. It is unsearchable, unfathomable, magnificent!
So I leave you with this, when you feel the pulling on your heart to spend time with your Heavenly Father, don’t reject Him, make the effort to let Him sweep you off your feet. Let Him pursue you the way no one else can. Let Him love you the way no one else will. He longs to be with us and He will never leave you not forsake you. Remember the things the world offers are temporary, there is no greater love then that of the Father. Selah
